Hello, I just made my first gallon batch of apple cider. I used Safale 04 yeast. However the packet was opened about 3-4 months ago that I brewed some beer. It was not saved in my fridge, rather in my closet, not rolen up or in a ziplock bag. I added 6 grams to my batch, however I think the yeast is dead because I primed it and no reaction was seen and I added another 3 gr of a new yeast pack.
Was it a bad decisión? What happens if I add to much yeast? I was wondering if it is likely to have ruined my batch
